Established in June of 2003, South Texas Associates of Radiology are committed to assisting radiologic technologists in achieving technical competency and receiving quality continuing education through professionally developed seminar settings (with ASRT approved classes). These events will meet ARRT requirements and Texas requirements for biennium certification and licensure requirements.

Company Officers

Nicole Dhanraj

Nicole Dhanraj, Ph.D. joined the company as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 September 2022. Dr. Nicole B. Dhanraj began her career in radiology as diagnostic imaging and CT technologist in the US Army. She jumped from technologist to Director, spending the last 15-plus years leading radiology departments. She was featured on the cover of ASRT Scanner magazine and was selected to travel to Canada for the Canadian Association of Medical Imaging Technologists (CAMRT) as part of their speaker exchange with the ASRT. She is a published author and considers herself an octopus with an arm in various industries like HR, healthcare, project management, and education. She has authored and co-authored many articles for the imaging world. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from St Martin’s University, Washington, and her Master’s in International Relations, graduating magna cum laude from Troy State University, Alabama. She earned her doctorate with an emphasis in Organizational Management from Capella University, Minnesota. When she is not saving the world one image at a time, she seeks out every minute of the day to enjoy a little bit of this and that with her family and feathery friends!

David Velez

David Velez has over 25 years experience as a radiology manager, educator and technologist. He graduated from the Army Medical Department’s Radiology Program in 1980. Registered with (ARRT) American Registry of Radiology Technologist, RT[R], David also has a Masters in Management in Healthcare Administration from Wayland Baptist University. Also a member of (ASRT) American Society of Technologists, he has served as Director of radiology services for a 200 plus-bed hospital, coordinator for an 190 bed hospital, been manager for an Imaging Center, and Senior Imaging Supervisor in a 400-bed care medical center with a teaching program. David has three years experience as an Occupational Health Care facility Administrator with 9 separate radiology locations and was a Radiology instructor for five years in the largest producing radiologic technologist program in the country, the U.S. Army, from which he retired after a distinguished twenty year professional background.
